Hans Wegner originally designed the CH29 Sawhorse chair in 1959, his clever design made it possible to create a traditionally sturdy chair yet using fewer parts.
The construction enabled him to make the seat wider in the front, which along with the heavily curved back made the chair extremely comfortable.
The unusual design of the chair with its cutting out in the sides of the back and the elaborate execution of the joint between forelegs and hind legs are details making the sawhorse chair a distinctive and sculptural piece of furniture.
