The Wishbone Chair, designed in 1949 by Danish designer Hans Wegner, was originally inspired by classical portraits of Danish merchants sitting on Chinese Ming chairs. It became one of the most iconic Danish furniture designs of the 20th Century.
Also referred to as the 'Y' chair due to its Y-shaped back, the Wishbone can be used as a dining or occasional chair, making it perfect for use in any living space.
Our Wishbone style chair is a high quality and remains true to the original design. Available in a range of beautiful colours, it can fit in easily with any modern or traditional interior. The name Hans J Wegner is only used to describe the characteristics of the goods made to the original design, and not as a trademark.

This is the first time I have ordered with Cult Furniture and all I can say is wow. I live on the Isle of Man and to many this might as well be the other side of the world. No problem with cult furniture, I was kept up to date every step of the order and 5 days later my beautiful chairs arrived. The chairs are both stylish, contemporary and beautifully made. Thank you, cannot wait to order more in the near future.

We are so thrilled with these chairs - they are absolutely gorgeous. They came pre-assembled and the quality is superb. The black paint is matt but with a faint sheen to it (does not look cheap) - was what I was worried about most and it feels smooth and clean to the touch. The chairs are very comfortable and I highly recommend them - so happy with them. Just one small niggle - you will need to supply your own felt pads for the leg bottoms (so they don't scratch your floors).
