Crib 5

Crib-5 (also known as BS 5852 Part 2) is a fire safety standard that applies to upholstery and soft furnishings used in public places such as hotels, offices, and restaurants. The standard sets out strict guidelines for flammability performance and requires materials to undergo rigorous testing before they can be used in these settings.

Our growing range of Crib-5 furniture is available on our website. You can see if a product meets this standard by checking its details at the bottom of the product page. It is important to note that not all materials used in residential settings need to meet this standard, as the risk of fire is generally considered lower in homes than in public spaces. Products used in homes only need to meet the BS 5852 Part 1 fire safety standards and all upholstered products available on Cult Tarde meet these standards.
