Blot spills right away with a clean, dry cloth—never rub. For water-based stains, dab with a slightly damp cloth and mild, pH-neutral soap. For oil-based stains, sprinkle baking soda to absorb grease, let it sit 15 minutes, then vacuum before blotting.

3. Deep cleaning

Mix a small amount of gentle upholstery cleaner or wool-safe detergent with lukewarm water. Test on a hidden area first. Gently sponge the fabric; avoid over-wetting. Rinse by blotting with a cloth dampened in plain water and allow to air-dry.
